Exercises are conducted seated, standing and as floorwork. It is an original and unique method, which coordinates movement, breath and mental focus.<\/p>\n<p>Anjali\u00a0Austin is a distinguished interdisciplinary artist whose career includes thirteen years of performing with the critically acclaimed Dance Theatre of Harlem. A movement artist, she has performed classical, neo-classical, and contemporary works by prominent choreographers, and choreographs nationally and internationally. Ballets she has performed include\u00a0<i>Billy the Kid<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Swan Lake<\/i>\u00a0(Act II),\u00a0<i>Serenade<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Flower Festival<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Dougla<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Concerto Barocco<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Prince Igor<\/i>,\u00a0<i>Paquita,<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>Frankie and Johnny<\/i>\u00a0\u2013\u00a0in which she held a vocal role. Also to her credits are PBS television specials\u00a0<i>Fall River Legend<\/i>,\u00a0<i>A Streetcar Named Desire,<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0<i>Creole Giselle<\/i>. She augmented her career with training and studies in <b>GYROTONIC\u00ae<\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<b>GYROKINESIS\u00ae<\/b>\u00a0methodology and is a Specialized Master Trainer with over 30 years of experience in the system. Ms. Austin is a Professor in the School of Dance at Florida State University, holds an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College, was a 2017 Fellow at the Center for Ballet and the Arts at New York University, and conducts lectures on the history and legacy of Black classical ballet dancers.
